Become a Grateful Dogs Foster Parent!

Animal shelters are filling up as the economy problems continue to rise. Grateful Dogs Rescue takes dogs from shelters that are on their “way out” and finds them safe and loving homes.

Consider fostering a dog from Grateful Dog Rescue. These amazing people will hold your hand through the process. Any foster dog of a K9 Safari client will get free dog walks until the dog finds a permanent home. Contact Grateful Dog Rescue at www.gratefuldogsrescue.org.

Presidents’ Day

Berkeley Needs a Home

Berkeley is a wonderful 5 year old Great Dane and Pit mix looking for a new home. Berkeley is a K9 Safari alumni. He is a sweet, loving and fun boy with both humans and other dogs. Berkeley is a gentle giant but also loves to romp! Unfortunately, his present owner has to move and can not take him to her newplace. We are helping her look for a loving person to give him a permanent home. K9 Safari clients will get one month of free dog walking if they decide to take Berkeley into their home. New Years Resolution for our Dogs

For anyone who likes to set New Years’ resolution, may I suggest dog training? Even the best dog (and owner) can use dog training to sharpen their skills. Here is a wonderful options here in San Francisco which will only advance your dog’s mind and confidence!

Dog Evolve is a fantastic way to train at your own pace with an array of options. Does your dog hate skateboards or bark when on leash? These wonderful classes, led by local and knowledgeable SPCA certified trainers, allow you and your dog to hone in on specific skills by “dropping-in” at your convenience. Here Come the Holidays!

Believe it or not, it is already December which means the holidays are approaching! K9 Safari will not be walking dogs Wednesday, December 24th through Friday, January 2nd. We will be back Monday, January 5th, ready to start the new year!

If you have not already made arrangements for your dog’s accommodations over the holidays, please contact me asap! Also, we know some great walkers that are walking over the holidays so if you need their services during our vacation, we would be happy to help you make a connection.

The holidays are approaching!

The holidays are quickly approaching! If you are planning to travel you will need to start looking for accommodations for your four legged friend. There are many different options for the over night care of your pooch. You can hire a pet sitter who will board your dog in their home, you can hire a kennel service or you can have someone stay at your house while you are gone. It is VERY important that you make arrangements SOON! Please let Megan know if you are interested in finding the perfect situation for your dog while you celebrate the holidays!

Doggy Flu is going around!

Hello K9 Companions! I thought you should know that there is a stomach bug going around the SF dog community. Dogs are coming down with diarrhea and vomiting for a 24 to 48 hour period. Make sure your pooch stays hydrated if he/she comes down with this bug. Also, put your dog on a bland and light diet of boiled chicken breast and rice until they start feeling back to normal. Hang in there and know it will pass!
