As the year comes to an end, K9 Safari will be taking a small vacation over the holidays to spend time with friends and family.
Our last day out with our packs in 2010 will be Thursday, December 23rd. After a small hibernation we will be back and ready to play on Monday, January 3rd.
We can not wait for another year of fun filled romps with our furry friends! We wish you the Merriest of Holidays and look forward to a fun New Year!
K9 Safari will not be walking dogs on Thursday, 11/25 and Friday, 11/26 in observance of Thanksgiving! All of us at K9 Safari wish you and your four legged family members a wonderful long holiday weekend filled with yummy food and lots of love!
As we have watched many of our sweet dogs grow and mature over the time we have come to realize that those dogs that were once in need of a high energy romp now need a more mellow and slower paced adventure.
We have created a “Senior Pack” that is perfect for those older or slower pooches who still want to hike the parks of SF! They just get to go at a slower pace and they won’t be bothered by those silly whipper-snapper puppies!!!
The “senior pack” goes out on a midday walk to many different off-leash parks with Celene, their loving and gentle walker. The dogs get more room in the car, assistance getting in and out of the auto, as well as freedom to sniff, explore and romp at their own pace. If you think your dog needs to slow it down a bit, we have the best pack for you!
K9 Safari will not be walking dogs on Monday, September 6th, in observance of Labor Day! We hope you all have a fantastic three day weekend with your four legged friends!
K9 Safari will not be walking dog on Monday, July 5th, in observance of Independence Day. We hope you all enjoy a fun filled three day weekend with your sweet dogs!
Also, please note that due to the loud noises of fire works many dogs are extremely stressed out during this holiday weekend. San Francisco Animal Care and Control gets their highest volume of lost dog reports due to dogs getting spooked by fire works. Please make sure your dog is safe and comfortable while you are all out celebrating!
Have a wonderful holiday!
There have been too many incidents recently of dogs being stolen outside of super markets and restaurants in San Francisco after being left unattended by their owners.
Recently, there was one incident, which got lots of play in the press, where a sweet middle aged mutt named Jojo was stolen from outside the Castro Safeway. After over a week of being missing he turned up in Marin after he was SOLD to a family. SF Animal Care and Control say that one dog per week is STOLEN in SF.
Please do not take your dog “out on the town” if you do not plan on being by their side at all times. Most dogs, well trained or not, feel very unsafe and insecure when tied up and left alone outside a public place while the owners are shopping and eating. I promise, your dog would rather be home, safe and warm, as opposed to outside cold and scared, or stolen!
K9 Safari will not be walking dogs on Monday, Feb 15th in observance of President’s Day. Enjoy your 3 day weekend!
I just want to let you all know that WE ARE walking on Monday, 1/18 as many of our clients are working, as well. Please let us know if your dog does NOT need a walk. Otherwise, we will see our sweet four legged friends at the regular time!

K9 Safari will not be walking dog starting Thursday, Dec 24th, through Friday, January 1st. We will be back, rested and so excited to play with your dogs on Monday, January 4th.
All of us at K9 Safari wish all of our furry friends and their families a warm, wonderful and happy holiday season!
K9 Safari is teaming up with Grateful Dogs Rescue! Grateful Dogs Rescue is a last resort for dogs that are facing euthanasia at the shelter. Please consider opening your home temporarily to a dog in need. GDR and I will provide support, information and help while you foster. You will help save a dog’s life and will be amazed at how rewarding the experience is. Not only will you help a dog find a happy new life, you’ll help a person find their new best friend. If a K9 Safari client decides to foster a dog, we will provide free dog walking while the dog is in your home! Check out Grateful Dogs Rescue’s website to see the dogs that need fostering.
